“Do I need to go to art school?”

I get asked this question a lot, and it seems that every year further away from graduation, I have a different answer. I also think going to college is not always necessary. To clarify, I went to an art & design school, where I studied how to be an Art Director in advertising. Specifically, the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. You may have seen the insanely cool outfits FIT students wear to school on TikTok. This was still definitely the case when I was there. The joke was though, business majors were the only ones who really had the time to plan and wear those outfits. Art and design majors wore pajamas most days because they stayed up until 4am working on their projects plus commute at least an hour on the subway. (I was one of them) Like with any school, the superficial beef between student groups was strong. But I digress.
