So today, I want to talk about resting, especially when we’ve been socialized to see it as “unproductive”. I feel like as creators, we can never turn off our brain because our ideas are always coming. Shutting things down feels against our nature. I’ve been learning lately though, that my body will eventually shut itself down for me. In late December, I got COVID for the third time. It was awful. Even with my best efforts to keep my health intact, my immune system was way down from travel, balancing all my projects and daily tasks.

I think this behavior is genetic. Let me introduce you to my siblings. My kuya does music full-time, leads a band and is constantly playing gigs, writing new music, and recording. (@bezinthebiz, @themangocakes) My ate is a chef and has a successful private event business in upstate New York. She’s now expanding to a private chef role in the city.
